Very Important Update...
The College of Podiatry this evening released its latest guidance on how Podiatrists should work during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Podiatrists and Podiatric surgeons are key to the successful management of foot and lower limb pathology that will help avoid unnecessary visits to acute hospitals and in some cases admissions to hospital.
Supporting the management of high-risk foot patients, to help avoid complications such as ulceration and specifically infection is essential.
With this in mind the College of Podiatry has advised:
1. All routine and non-urgent treatments and assessments be delayed until further notice for patients with low risk feet
2. Patients with high risk feet or urgent need can still be treated especially if they are at risk of breakdown or infection. This includes those in a vulnerable category or who are over 70.
As a result Michelle Reynolds Podiatry will, until advised otherwise, only be treating patients who are assessed as having urgent problems which could potentially become limb or life threatening if not managed in a timely manner. This is in effect a temporary closure of the business. We will only be opening to see those emergencies when absolutely necessary.
We will over the next few days contact all patients who have an appointment and risk assess their need for an appointment.
If you have developed an urgent problem during our closure please call us ASAP on 427 4937 to discuss how to access assistance.
If you need foot health & care advice during our closure please contact us on 427 4937.
Our ansaphone will be regularly monitored.
Nobody knows how long this crisis will last or when we will be able to reopen, but we will update you as soon as anything changes.
We also must remind you that if you are showing signs of symptoms of Covid-19, OR have been in contact with anyone with Covid-19, please do not attend clinic. Self-isolate as advised in government guidelines. More information here:
If you require urgent podiatry treatment but have, or are suspected of having, Covid-19 you should ring 111 for advice.
If you are in the vulnerable category who are being asked to remain at home for 12 weeks (letters will arrive from GP/NHS this week if you are in this group) and you think you need podiatry treatment or any other medical treatments please ring 111 for advice.
